Padre Miguel Monje Wine
Dense in the fall, garnet red, aromas appear to past figs, prunes interspersed with passionate orange. The palate is harmonious: it has adequate acidity, fine tannins that make good company to that sweetness nothing heavy, tasty memory at the end. It is ideal to serve in desserts.

My story
The great-grandfather Jerónimo Monje Ocampos, born in 1830, said that a winery that did not have a Father Wine helmet "that was not a winery, nor did they know about wine". This wine, made with Listán Negro grapes overripe in the vineyard, is fortified with alcohol up to 16°. It is a practice inherited from the Portuguese influence. The wine was used to lead the young reds when the harvests had difficulties in the color or grade because of late rains in the harvest. I saw him do my father Miguel Monje several times and yes, it works. Today it is made just as our ancestors did, and we bottled only 1,000 bottles per year.s included- Slightly viscous, crimson red and with a delicate aroma of ripe figs and prunes mixed with orange. Harmonious on the palate with the right amount of acidity and fine tannins that go well with the light sweetness and fine aftertaste of the vinegar. Ideal as a dessert wine.
